Rowing & Flatwater Play-By-Play

Leigh Diffey serves as a rowing and flatwater play-by-play announcer for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Diffey made his NBC Olympics broadcast debut with NBC Sports Group at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, handling play-by-play duties for bobsled, skeleton and luge.

Diffey joined NBC Sports Group in 2013 as a play-by-play announcer for Formula One, IndyCar and NASCAR coverage. Prior to joining NBC, Diffey served as SPEED’s play-by-play announcer and host for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sportscar Series, US rounds of the MotoGP world championship and periodically on the Formula One coverage. He was a regular host on SPEED Center and The Speed Report.

Diffey began his broadcasting career covering V8 Supercars for Australia’s Network Ten, and the World Superbike Championship and WRC for the BBC. Diffey has covered the American Le Mans Series, 24 Hours of Le Mans, MotoGP, CART World Series, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series.

Diffey is a native of Brisbane, Australia, and currently lives in Connecticut with his wife and two children.
