  • The three-time Olympian (2002, 2006, and 2010) made history at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games when he became the first American to win an Olympic medal in a Nordic combined event. Spillane earned three silver medals in Vancouver in the individual normal hill, individual large hill and the team event.
  • Over his 13 year career, Spillane won four U.S. championships and earned six World Cup medals.
  • In 2003 he became the first American to win a gold medal at the Nordic World Championships winning the 7.5km event.
