JIM WATSON
Jim Watson serves as a gymnastics play-by-play announcer for NBC Sports Group during the 2016 Olympic Games. Rio marks Watson’s fourth Olympics with NBC having most recently contributed as a weightlifting play-by-play announcer at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London.
Currently, Watson is a play-by-play announcer for Pac-12 Networks contributing coverage for football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, track and field, gymnastics, soccer, softball, water polo and cross country events. He began his broadcasting career in 1990 after graduating from USC in 1989.
A five-time Emmy Award winner, Watson has served as a full-time play-by-play announcer, anchor, reporter and host for NBC Sports Group, Universal Sports, FOX Sports Net, ESPN3, Time Warner and several other national and regional networks.
Watson worked for FOX Sports for 20 years covering every sport the network aired including Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Kings, Ducks and all Pac-12 events. Watson was also the play-by-play voice for the Los Angeles Galaxy for five years.
A graduate of the University of Southern California Watson currently resides in Santa Monica, Calif.
