Dain Blanton
Dain Blanton makes his NBC Olympics debut as a beach volleyball analyst during the 2016 Olympic Games.
Blanton is currently an analyst for ESPN, CBS Sports Network and The Pac 12’s NCAA college volleyball coverage. Internationally, Blanton serves as an analyst for the FIVB Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series of Beach Volleyball in Croatia, Norway and Switzerland.
Blanton attended Pepperdine University where he was an All-American and guided the Pepperdine Waves to a National Volleyball Championship in 1992. Upon graduating, he joined the Pro Beach Volleyball tour and became the first African American to win a major title, securing a win over No. 1 seeds at the Hermosa Beach Grand Slam in 1997. In 2000, Blanton and his volleyball partner Eric Fonoimoana upset the world’s top-seeded team from Brazil to take home the beach volleyball gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Blanton currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
