CYNTHIA POTTER

Diving Analyst

Cynthia Potter serves as a diving analyst for NBC Sports Group at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Potter has been an analyst for NBC Sports’  Olympic coverage since the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She also has lent her expertise to the network’s coverage of the Olympic Trials in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, the 1995 World Cup of Diving, and the National Diving Championships.

As a competitor, Potter was a member of the 1972, 1976 and 1980 U.S. Olympic Diving Teams. She was named World Diver of the Year three times (1970, 1971 and 1977) and captured a silver medal at the 1978 World Diving Championships.

Potter holds a record 28 NCAA diving championships and 20 gold medals in world competitions. Potter competed for a record 20 years, both on the springboard and the platform. She was elected to the Indiana University Hall of Fame, the International Swimming Hall of Fame, and received the ISHOF’s Paragon Award in 2014.

Potter currently resides in Atlanta, Ga., with her husband Peter Lasser.
