Chris Maddocks returns as a race walking analyst for NBC Sports Group during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. An international race walker for 23 years, Maddocks made his debut as an analyst during the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London.
Maddocks is the only man in the history of British athletics to have competed in five Olympic Games; Los Angeles in 1984, Seoul in 1988, Barcelona in 1992, Atlanta in 1996, and Sydney in 2000. He still holds various British road walking records.
At the 2000 British Athletics Writers Awards Ceremony in London, he was presented with a special award for services to athletics. After his competitive retirement, Chris completed post-graduate bi-media studies at Leeds University. He has written freelance sports articles for a variety of publications and for nearly three decades he has also coached athletes of all standards, from novice to Olympic level. In 2012, Maddocks published an autobiography entitled Money Walks.
Chris resides in England with his wife Fiona and daughter, Eleanor.
