Reigning 100m World Champion Noah Lyles Set to Face 2022 100m World Champion Fred Kerley in the 60m

STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 1, 2024 – Reigning 100m world champion Noah Lyles and 2022 100m world champion Fred Kerley headline NBC Sports’ live coverage of the 2024 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix from Boston, Mass., this Sunday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The meet, which doubles as a stop on the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold, will be held at the TRACK at new balance, a state-of-the-art indoor facility at the company’s world headquarters in Boston.

Lyles and Kerley are set to face off in the 60m dash on Sunday. Lyles, who in 2023 became the first athlete since Usain Bolt in 2015 to win the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m at a World Championship, is the defending 60m champion at this meet, where he ran a personal best of 6.51 to win last year. Kerley, the 2022 100m world champion, will be racing this distance for the first time in his career. Lyles and Kerley were teammates on the 4x100m relay team that won gold at last year’s World Championships in Budapest.

One of the premiere indoor meets on the U.S. calendar, a number of notable Olympic and world medalists are expected to compete on Sunday, including three-time reigning 110m hurdles world champion Grant Holloway, two-time Olympic medalist Gabby Thomas, reigning 10,000m world champion Gudaf Tsegay (Ethiopia), 2021 U.S. 1500m champion Elle St. Pierre, steeplechase world record holder and three-time world silver medalist Lamecha Girma (Ethiopia), 2022 4x100m relay world champion Aleia Hobbs, and 2022 1500m world champion Jake Wightman (Great Britain), racing for the first time in almost 13 months after missing last season due to injury.

NBC Sports’ Paul Swangard will call the event, joined by four-time Olympic medalist Ato Boldon and 2012 London Olympic decathlon silver medalist Trey Hardee. Lewis Johnson will serve as reporter.

NBC Sports’ 2024 indoor track & field/cross country schedule spans two continents and three U.S. states and is highlighted by the NYRR Millrose Games in New York City (Feb. 11), USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. (Feb. 17), 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland (March 1-3), and 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia (March 30).
