STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 1, 2023 – NBC Sports kicks off its coverage of the 2023 NFL season this Thursday, August 3, at 8 p.m. ET, as the New York Jets face the Cleveland Browns at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, in the annual Hall of Fame Game on NBC and Peacock. Pregame coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America on-site in Canton.

NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Football announce team of Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst) and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter) will be on the call for Jets-Browns, with Terry McAulay serving as rules analyst.

Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, will be on-site in Canton for the second consecutive year. Devin McCourty makes his NBC Sports debut, joining FNIA teammates Maria Taylor, Jason Garrett, Tony Dungy, Rodney Harrison, Chris Simms, Mike Florio, Matthew Berry, and Jac Collinsworth.

This show will preview the 2023 NFL season and celebrate the players being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend. McCourty is joining Football Night in America as an analyst following a 13-year NFL career as a defensive back for the New England Patriots, where he won three Super Bowls.

This year’s Hall of Fame class includes cornerback Ronde Barber, cornerback Darrelle Revis, offensive tackle Joe Thomas, linebacker Zach Thomas, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware, head coach Don Coryell, linebacker Chuck Howley, defensive lineman Joe Klecko, and cornerback Ken Riley.

Thursday’s Football Night in America will include season outlooks for both the Jets and Browns, examining New York’s prospects with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers under center as well as Cleveland and the competitive AFC North.

Pregame coverage will feature Maria Taylor’s sit-down interview with Jets cornerback and 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner. Jets wide receiver and 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, Browns defensive end and four-time All-Pro Myles Garrett, and Hall of Fame inductees Ronde Barber and Darrelle Revis will be interviewed on the field prior to the game. Throughout the game, Melissa Stark will interview multiple inductees, including Barber, Klecko, Revis, Joe Thomas, Zach Thomas, and Ware.

Following its presentation of the Hall of Fame game, NBC Sports begins coverage of the 2023 regular season with NFL Kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 7, featuring the Detroit Lions at the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
