STAMFORD, Conn. – March 14, 2023 – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, the newly minted record holder for all-time FIS World Cup victories, headlines NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022-23 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals, presented by Stifel, from Soldeu, Andorra, this Wednesday-Sunday. NBC Sports’ live coverage, which totals 14 hours throughout the week and exclusively covers women’s races, begins tomorrow with the women’s downhill at 6:30 a.m. ET on Peacock. In addition to the downhill, coverage will include the women’s super-G, slalom, giant slalom, and team parallel.

Last week, Shiffrin tied and then surpassed two-time Olympic champion Ingemar Stenmark to become the all-time record holder for career FIS World Cup victories, winning her record-breaking 87^th race in Are, Sweden, on March 11. Shiffrin currently has an insurmountable 1,003-point lead in the overall points standings over rival Petra Vlhova (Slovakia) and has already clinched her fifth career Crystal Globe, breaking a tie with Lindsey Vonn for most Crystal Globes won by an American skier. She has also clinched the World Cup season titles in slalom and giant slalom.

Shiffrin, who has 136 career World Cup podium finishes, is one podium finish away from tying Vonn’s all-time women’s record. With a victory on Sunday in the giant slalom, Shiffrin would also break the single-season and career records for most women’s giant slalom World Cup wins. She currently has six giant slalom World Cup wins this season (tied with Vreni Schneider and Sonja Nef for the most) and 20 in her career (tied with Schneider for the most).

Shiffrin will be joined by U.S. Ski teammate and 2023 team world champion Paula Moltzan in Soldeu. On the international side, 2022 Beijing Olympic super-G champion Lara Gut-Behrami (Switzerland), five-time Olympic medalist Wendy Holdener (Switzerland), and three-time Olympic medalist Federica Brignone (Italy) are all expected to compete.
