MIKAELA SHIFFRIN SETS WOMEN’S AND U.S. ALL-TIME RECORD FOR MOST CAREER WORLD CUP VICTORIES

Shiffrin (83 Career Wins) Breaks Tie with Lindsey Vonn to Become Sole Women’s and U.S. Career Record Holder; Three Wins Away from Tying Ingemar Stenmark’s All-Time Record of 86 Career World Cup Victories

Shiffrin Skis Tomorrow with Live Coverage of Women’s Giant Slalom from Kronplatz, Italy, Beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET on SkiAndSnowboard.Live

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 24, 2023 – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin has become the women’s and U.S. record holder for career alpine skiing FIS World Cup victories across all disciplines, earning her 83rd career win earlier today with the giant slalom in Kronplatz, Italy.

Shiffrin broke a tie with three-time Olympic medalist and U.S. skier Lindsey Vonn with the win. Starting tomorrow, Shiffrin will have three races in five days – a stretch that could see her potentially tie Ingemar Stenmark’s all-time record of 86 career World Cup victories.

Live coverage of Shiffrin’s chase for 86 continues tomorrow with the women’s giant slalom from Kronplatz at 4:30 a.m. ET. Shiffrin will then travel to Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic, to race two slaloms on Saturday and Sunday, both at 3:30 a.m. ET. She is already the winningest slalom skier of all time regardless of gender with 51 career victories.

Every race this week will be presented live on the subscription streaming service SkiAndSnowboard.Live. If she wins all three races this week, she would tie Stenmark’s all-time record of 86 career World Cup victories, which has stood since 1989.
