STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 19, 2023 – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin is one win away from breaking a tie with three-time Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn and becoming the sole U.S. and women’s record holder for career alpine skiing FIS World Cup victories across all disciplines. Both skiers have 82 career wins. Starting tomorrow, Shiffrin will have seven races in 10 days – a stretch that could also see her potentially tie or pass Ingemar Stenmark’s all-time record of 86 career World Cup victories.

Live coverage of Shiffrin’s chase for 83 continues tomorrow with the women’s downhill from Cortina, Italy, at 4:15 a.m. ET. Shiffrin will race another downhill on Saturday at 4 a.m. ET and will finish the weekend with a Super-G on Sunday at 5:30 a.m. ET. She will then travel north to Kronplatz, Italy, where she’s expected to compete in the giant slalom on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Her last stop on this stretch is in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic, where she’s expected to compete in the women’s slalom on Saturday, Jan. 28, and Sunday, Jan. 29. She is already the winningest slalom skier of all time regardless of gender with 51 career victories. Every race in this 10-day period will be presented live on the subscription streaming service SkiAndSnowboard.Live.

Passing Vonn would make Shiffrin the winningest female alpine skier in World Cup history and the winningest skier in U.S. history regardless of gender. Passing Ingemar Stenmark’s record, which has stood since 1989, would make Shiffrin the winningest alpine skier of all time, and statistically, one of the most dominant athletes in individual sports history. Shiffrin could potentially pass his record in Kronplatz or Spindleruv Mlyn.
