CHASING HISTORY: MIKAELA SHIFFRIN CAN SET WOMEN’S ALL-TIME RECORD FOR MOST CAREER WORLD CUP WINS WITH VICTORY TOMORROW LIVE ON PEACOCK

Shiffrin Can Break Tie with Lindsey Vonn (82 Career Wins Each) to Become Sole U.S. and Women’s Career Record Holder

Live Coverage of Women’s Slalom from Flachau, Austria, Begins Tomorrow at Noon ET on Peacock; Second Run at 2:45 p.m. ET on Peacock

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 9, 2023 – Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin is the focal point of Peacock’s exclusive live coverage of the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup event in Flachau, Austria, tomorrow as she looks to break a tie with three-time Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn and become the sole U.S. and women’s record holder for career alpine skiing World Cup victories across all disciplines. On Sunday, Shiffrin won the World Cup giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, to tie Vonn and earn her 82nd career World Cup victory. She has won six of her last seven races.

Live coverage of Shiffrin’s chase for 83 is presented exclusively on Peacock from Flachau, Austria, where Shiffrin is expected to compete in the slalom competition. She is already the winningest slalom skier of all time regardless of gender. Tomorrow’s first run is at Noon ET followed by the second run at 2:45 p.m. ET.

Steve Schlanger will handle play-by-play while former Stifel U.S. Alpine Team member Steve Porino will serve as analyst for the Flachau race on Tuesday.

Passing Vonn would make Shiffrin the winningest female alpine skier in World Cup history and the winningest skier in U.S. history regardless of gender. Passing Ingemar Stenmark’s record, which has stood since 1989, would make Shiffrin the winningest alpine skier of all time, and statistically, one of the most dominant athletes in individual sports history. Shiffrin could potentially pass his record this season.

MOST CAREER WORLD CUP WINS

1. Ingemar Stenmark (SWE)

86

2. Mikaela Shiffrin (USA)

2. Lindsey Vonn (USA)
