STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 28, 2022 – Rookie Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburgh Steelers look to keep their playoff hopes alive when they visit Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews and the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens on this week’s edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md., on NBC, Peacock and Universo.

Pittsburgh (7-8) remains in the AFC Wild Card race following its come-from-behind 13-10 win against the Las Vegas Raiders last Saturday. The Steelers are one game behind the Miami Dolphins and need a victory against the Ravens on SNF to stay in contention. The Ravens (10-5) clinched a playoff berth following their 17-9 win against the Atlanta Falcons last Saturday and are only a game behind the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals (11-4), who they face in Week 18.

This Sunday is the 10th Steelers-Ravens game on NBC’s Sunday Night Footballmarking the most played AFC matchup on SNF since NBC Sports began with the package in the 2006 season (includes NFL Kickoff and Thanksgiving night games, which are part of the SNF package). Pittsburgh holds a 32-25 advantage in the all-time series (including the postseason) versus Baltimore. The past five, and 12 of the last 15, matchups between the rivals have been decided by one score.

In Pittsburgh’s win last Saturday, Pickett threw for 244 yards and the game-winning touchdown to wide receiver George Pickens with 46 seconds remaining. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick added an interception and is tied for second in the league with five this season.

The Ravens improved their 2022 home record to 5-2 in last Saturday’s victory. Baltimore ran for 184 yards, led by running back Gus Edwards’ season-high 99 yards. Quarterback Tyler Huntley added a touchdown pass. Andrews is second among AFC tight ends with 747 receiving yards on 64 catches.

Calling Steelers-Ravens is Mike Tirico (play-by-play); 17-time Emmy Award winner Cris Collinsworth (analyst); and Melissa Stark (sideline reporter). Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the Sunday Night Football rules analyst.

2022 NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
*Sun. Jan. 1 Week 17 Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens
*Sun. Jan. 8 Week 18 TBD

*Flex Week

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING:

Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-18. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-17, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time.

For Week 18, two Saturday games and the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 9. The schedule does not list Saturday games or a Sunday night game in Week 18, but games with playoff implications will be moved to those time slots.  Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
