STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 30, 2022 – The world’s top swimmers meet this week for the Toyota U.S. Open Swimming Championships at Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C., headlined by 10-time Olympic medalist and world record holder Katie Ledecky, two-time world champion Summer McIntosh of Canada, four-time Olympic medalist Abbey Weitzeil, three-time Olympic medalist Regan Smith, and two-time Olympic medalist Chase Kalisz.

Live coverage of the competition streams exclusively on Peacock this Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. ET. NBC will present an encore on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 4:30 p.m. ET. All television coverage will stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app via authentication.

This week’s competition features Ledecky in the 400m freestyle on Thursday, an event in which she holds the American and meet record; Weitzeil in the 50m freestyle on Thursday; Smith in the 100m backstroke on Friday, an event in which she holds the American and meet record; and Kalisz in the 400 IM on Friday, the event that he won at the Tokyo Olympics.

Notable international athletes expected to compete include teenage sensation Summer McIntosh (Canada), who recently became the youngest world champion since 2011 and the youngest Canadian world champion in history after winning the 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley as a 15-year-old at the 2022 World Championships.

McIntosh will go head-to-head against Ledecky in the 400m freestyle on Thursday and attempt to snap the American’s 10-year undefeated streak in domestic, long-course freestyle races of 400 meters or longer. While McIntosh took silver to Ledecky’s gold in this event at this year’s World Championships, the Canadian phenom still managed to become only the fourth woman in history to break four minutes in the event (3:59.39).
