NBC SPORTS NEXT AND NFL RE-CONNECT TO SALUTE THE U.S. MILITARY COMMUNITY WITH FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE IN NOVEMBER

Campaign Will Encourage Golfers Booking Tee Times on GolfNow and TeeOff to “Round-Up” to Benefit NFL’s Salute to Service

ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 1, 2022)NBC Sports Next will reprise its 2021 “Round-Up” philanthropic campaign with the NFL this November as a continuing salute to the non-profits that support the NFL’s Salute to Service initiative for military communities in the U.S. and around the world.

Throughout November, NBC Sports Next – through its Better Together initiative – will help raise funds for the NFL’s year-round effort to honor, empower and connect the nation’s service members, veterans, and their families.

A significant element of the campaign will include a “Round-Up” initiative on both GolfNow  and TeeOff tee-time booking websites. GolfNow and TeeOff comprise the largest online tee-time marketplace in golf and the industry’s leading providers of golf course operations software and services to more than 9,000 courses worldwide. Anyone booking tee times on GolfNow or TeeOff in November will be provided the opportunity to round up the total cost of the reservation to an even-dollar figure. For example, if the cost of a tee time totals $34.65, the golfer can elect to round up the cost to $35, donating the additional $0.35 to the NFL’s Salute to Service. The campaign raised $100,000 for Salute to Service in 2021.

“A key area of our Better Together initiative is forming partnerships and programs that create more opportunity and access in our communities, so we’re honored to work with the NFL as a way to help and thank our military,” said Jerramy Hainline, SVP, Fandango Ticketing & GolfNow, NBCUniversal. “We also want to thank all the generous golfers who will choose to round up for this great cause when booking on GolfNow and TeeOff in November.”

“We’re thankful to continue working with NBC Sports Next in support of the league’s Salute to Service initiative,” said Anna Isaacson, the NFL’s Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility. “The generous donations provided through the ‘Round-Up’ campaign throughout the month of November will help to make a positive impact for the military and veteran communities that our nonprofit partners serve.”

The campaign will be promoted across NBC Sports platforms on air, online and via social media. The NFL and the five non-profit Salute to Service partners benefiting from the initiative – Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF), Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF), Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), United Service Organizations (USO) and Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) – also will support the campaign.

GolfPass, the leading digital membership managed by NBC Sports Next for the golf-obsessed, also honors the military service community with an ongoing membership discount of 20 percent. More information can be found at www.golfpass.com/military.
