NBC Sports to Present Eight Domestic FIS World Cup Events Plus Austria Events During 2022-23 Season Across NBC, Peacock and CNBC

Peacock Set to Present Over 40 Hours of Exclusive FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup Coverage in Austria During 2022-23 Season

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 20, 2022 – NBC Sports will present more than 50 hours of 2022-23 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup programming across NBC, Peacock, and CNBC beginning this Saturday, Oct. 22, with the men’s and women’s giant slalom live from Soelden, Austria, at 4 a.m. ET (Run 1) and 7:05 a.m. ET (Run 2) exclusively on Peacock. Three-time Olympic medalist and reigning World Cup overall champion Mikaela Shiffrin looks to add to her 74 career World Cup race victories, which are third-best in alpine skiing history behind only Lindsey Vonn (82) and Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark (86).

Shiffrin, who is also a six-time world champion, leads an impressive crew of U.S. Olympians in the women’s field including Paula Moltzan. On the international side, 2022 Beijing Olympic slalom gold medalist and 2021 World Cup overall winner Petra Vlhova (Slovakia), 2022 Beijing super-G gold medalist Lara Gut-Behrami (Switzerland), 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic downhill gold medalist Sofia Goggia (Italy), and three-time Olympic medalist Federica Brignone (Italy) are all expected to compete.

The U.S. men are headlined by 2022 Beijing Olympic super-G silver medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle as well as River Radamus, who finished fourth in the same event at the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Three-time Olympian Tommy Ford, who won a World Cup giant slalom race in 2019, is also expected to compete.

The international field is headlined by Beijing Olympic gold medalist Marco Odermatt (Switzerland). Two-time Olympic medalist and 28-time World Cup race winner Henrik Kristoffersen (Norway) is also expected to compete.

NBC Sports and U.S. Ski & Snowboard recently renewed their media rights agreement through 2025. Under the newly extended agreement, NBC Sports will present 19 hours of coverage of all eight domestic FIS World Cup events. Peacock will also stream all FIS World Cup events in Austria during the 2022-23 FIS World Cup season, including the season-opening events from Soelden and the storied men’s downhill from Kitzbuehel, Austria.

NBC Sports’ 2022-23 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup schedule spans two continents and three U.S. states and is highlighted by events in Killington, Ver. (Nov. 26-27), Beaver Creek, Col. (Dec. 3-4), Palisades, Cal. (Feb. 26, Mar. 4), Aspen, Col., (March 4-5) and multiple cities in Austria.
