UNITED STATES TEAM

Paul McGinley on Live From: “I’ve been saying all we how much better the Americans were off the golf course and in their decision-making. There’s a new energy to this group of players on the American team. They seem to be very united. With all due respect to them, they haven’t come up yet against a real strong opponent…it’s too early to say this is the greatest team ever.”

Azinger: “American golf is strong, no doubt about it. They came here with a bunch of great players.

Azinger on Tony Finau after his 3-and-1 win over Taylor Pendrith: “A great comeback for Tony Finau. A guy that everyone loves, that everyone wants to play with. He deserves a big moment like this.”

Dan Hicks on Sam Burns’ 0-3-2 record: “It’s hard to believe that Sam Burns, with the high level of play that he has demonstrated this week, does not have a win.”

Justin Leonard on Justin Thomas/Si Woo Kim match: “I think Justin Thomas is taking this match personally.”

Hicks on Collin Morikawa following his tee shot on the 14th hole: “He has really found his game today with five birdies and an eagle so far.”

Paul Azinger: “No doubt about it. Si Woo didn’t give him that putt earlier in the match and it irritated him. Both of them are irritated. This is what you want to see.”

INTERNATIONAL TEAM

Brandel Chamblee on Live From: “The Internationals played their hearts out…it looked like Sunday might be irrelevant, but they dug themselves out of a hole and turned this into a very interesting competition. There were times this Sunday when we thought a comeback was possible…I think that the International team will leave here galvanized.”

Notah Begay III on Hideki Matsuyama’s ball hitting a marshal on the 18th hole: “Just a colossally bad break.”

Azinger on Matsuyama’s chip hitting the pin on the 18th hole: “What a shot and what a break! That was going off the green.”

Azinger: “Could he have stood in a worse spot? Right in the landing area of Matsuyama’s drive.”

Azinger on Si Woo Kim’s birdie on the 17th hole and 1-up win over Justin Thomas: “This is all heart and guts…the real Si Woo Kim showed up. That’s a massive win.”

Azinger on Sebastian Munoz: “I believe Munoz is going to come out of this competition with a real infusion of self-belief and confidence. He has made some huge putts.”
