STAMFORD, Conn. – July 28, 2022 – The nation’s top gymnasts meet this week for the 2022 U.S. Classic at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake Valley, Utah. NBC Sports’ live coverage begins this Saturday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC, featuring the junior women’s competition.

NBC Sports’ live coverage continues Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the senior women’s competition. Coverage concludes this Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. ET on Peacock and CNBC with the Junior and Senior Men. On Saturday, Aug. 6, NBC Sports will present a highlight show of the 2022 U.S. Classic on NBC.

This weekend’s competition is headlined by reigning world all-around silver medalist Leanne Wong in the senior women’s event and Tokyo Olympians Brody Malone, Yul Moldauer, and Shane Wiskus on the men’s side.

Two-time Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez, who won a gold medal in the team event and a silver medal on balance beam at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will serve as an event analyst for the first time, alongside play-by-play announcer John Roethlisberger. Previously, Hernandez served as a commentator on Tokyo Live on Peacock for the Tokyo Olympics and hosted a show on TikTok during the Beijing Games.

The U.S. Classic serves as the final opportunity for athletes to qualify for the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships that are set to take place in Tampa, Fla., from August 18-21. Highlights of this weekend’s competition include Malone, Moldauer, and Wiskus competing against 2022 NCAA all-around champion Paul Juda (University of Michigan). The men’s event will also feature Stephen Nedoroscik, who won the first-ever pommel horse world title for the U.S. at the 2021 World Championships.
