Q. 38 points. Walk me through your round. You had your front nine, started hot. Start with the front.

DEREK LOWE: Got off to a good start. And then I had a little hiccup stretch, four holes in a row, knew I had 16 and 18. Didn’t play 16 very well. But I’m happy with it. It’s just — you try not to take it too serious. Try to step back and look at your surroundings and be happier here, and obviously we would all love to win and compete. But there’s always tomorrow.

Q. The finish with the birdie on 18, that had to be just satisfactory, just a good momentum builder going into tomorrow?

DEREK LOWE: Definitely. I needed it. The back nine wasn’t the greatest. But momentum — and Mulder and Fish, a lot of guys that won this before are leading, they’re not going to be easy to beat, but we’ll hopefully have a chance.

Q. Tell me about the crowds out here today. First year of everybody back. Tell me about the crowds.

DEREK LOWE: Unfortunately, the last two years have been obviously a little quiet. We played behind Timberlake, Rodgers and Steph Curry. They had the crowd. We kind of — there’s the leftovers, but this is tremendous. This is the biggest event we have, obviously one of the best golfing events you can possibly go to.
