GOLF CHANNEL/NBC COMMENTS ON NICK FALDO FROM MIKE TIRICO, MOLLY SOLOMON AND MARK LOOMIS

Following are comments on Nick Faldo from NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico and GOLF Channel executives Molly Solomon and Mark Loomis. Tirico has worked with Faldo at a number of networks, while Solomon was part of the GOLF Channel executive team that brought Faldo to GOLF Channel in 2007 and Loomis led ABC’s golf production when Faldo joined their broadcast team in 2004.

Mike Tirico – NBC Sports: “I don’t think any of us knew what to expect when Nick stepped in the booth to join Paul Azinger and me in 2004. What has played out over the last two decades has been one of the great runs for an analyst in the 18th tower. Nick’s quick British wit and curiosity along with his passion and knowledge for golf have given all of us so much entertainment for the last 18 years. Personally, I am so thankful for the chance to not only sit next to Nick at different networks over the years but to now count him as a friend. Bravo Sir Nick – and cheers to enjoying the adventures ahead.”

Molly Solomon – Executive Producer, GOLF Channel: “Nick Faldo brought immediate credibility and gravitas to GOLF Channel at a time when our network was just beginning its relationship with the PGA TOUR in 2007. From his time in the booth on our first-ever PGA TOUR telecast to countless major championships and Ryder Cups, Nick has been a leading voice in the sport. We thank Nick for his incredible contributions to GOLF Channel and look forward to raising a pint – or two – with him in St. Andrews next month to celebrate his next chapter in Montana.”

Mark Loomis – SVP of Production, GOLF Channel: “No one has been more intertwined with championship golf around the world for the last 40+ years than Nick, and his legacy on and off the course is as impressive as any of his generation.  When Nick started announcing 18 years ago, many people felt like it was the first time that he had truly opened up to the golf world, and we will miss his unique insight and commentary.”
