NBC Sports and FOX Sports to Present All 43 USFL Games Live During Inaugural Season

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 19, 2022 – The league-best 5-0 Birmingham Stallions led by USFL all-purpose yards leader, wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr. (832 yards), face quarterback Shea Patterson and the Michigan Panthers (1-4) in a primetime matchup headlining NBC Sports’ USFL Week 6 doubleheader this Saturday at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala.

Birmingham-Michigan kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, immediately following NBC Sports’ coverage of the 147th Preakness Stakes, and concludes 9.5 consecutive hours of live sports programming Saturday on NBC and Peacock.

The Stallions continued their unbeaten season last Sunday defeating the Philadelphia Stars, 30-17. Birmingham scored 23 straight points behind 114 rushing yards and a touchdown from running back CJ Marable and 203 passing yards and a touchdown from quarterback J’Mar Smith. Patterson threw for a season-high 304 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers fell 27-20 to the Tampa Bay Bandits last Friday.

Jac Collinsworth will handle play-by-play alongside former Dallas Cowboys head coach and NFL quarterback Jason Garrett (analyst) for the primetime matchup on NBC and Peacock. Zora Stephenson will serve as sideline reporter.

Saturday’s doubleheader begins with quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, who ranks second in the league with 834 passing yards, and the Tampa Bay Bandits (3-2) playing quarterback Case Cookus and the Philadelphia Stars (2-3) at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Ta’amu passed for 207 yards and a pair of touchdowns while running back Juwan Washington added two touchdowns on the ground in the Bandits’ 27-20 victory over the Panthers last Friday. Cookus threw for 215 yards and linebacker Josh Banderas registered 12 tackles, including two sacks, in the Stars’ 30-17 loss to the Stallions last Sunday.

Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan (analyst) will call Saturday’s matinee on NBC and Peacock. Corey Robinson will serve as the sideline reporter.

NBC Sports and FOX Sports, the USFL’s official media partners, will combine to present all 43 games live this inaugural season. For the 2022 USFL season, NBC Sports will present 22 games on NBC (9), USA Network (9), and Peacock (4), which will also stream all games broadcast on NBC. FOX Sports will carry 22 games split between FOX (14) and FS1 (8). The combined regular-season coverage on NBC and FOX will give the USFL 22 broadcast windows, more than any regularly scheduled sport in the first half of 2022.
