NBC Sports and FOX Sports to Present All 43 USFL Games Live During Inaugural Season
STAMFORD, Conn., – April 27, 2022 – Following a second weekend highlighted by three one-score games, USFL Week 3 features quarterback Shea Patterson and the Michigan Panthers against quarterback Josh Love and the Pittsburgh Maulers in a North Division showdown from Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Ala., this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on USA Network.
The Panthers and Maulers both look to earn their first USFL wins. The Panthers fell to the New Jersey Generals 10-6 last Friday, with their points coming on running back Cameron Scarlett’s first touchdown of the season. The Maulers lost by a touchdown to the Philadelphia Stars 30-23 on Saturday with Love throwing for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Maulers wide receiver Bailey Gaither leads the USFL in receiving with 159 yards.
Jac Collinsworth will handle Sunday’s play-by-play commentary on USA Network alongside former Dallas Cowboys head coach and NFL quarterback Jason Garrett as analyst. Corey Robinson will serve as sideline reporter and Sara Perlman will anchor halftime coverage.
Week 3 concludes Sunday in primetime with the first USFL game to stream exclusively on Peacock as league passing leader Bryan Scott and the Philadelphia Stars face the quarterback tandem of Luis Perez and De’Andre Johnson and the New Jersey Generals at 8 p.m. ET.
Scott threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the Stars’ 30-23 victory over the Maulers and leads the USFL in passing yards (474) and touchdowns (four). Running back Darius Victor totaled 40 rushing yards and the go-ahead touchdown for the Generals in their 10-6 win over the Panthers.
Paul Burmeister (play-by-play) and former NFL fullback Michael Robinson (analyst) will call Sunday’s primetime matchup on Peacock with Corey Robinson on the sidelines and Sara Perlman anchoring halftime coverage.
NBC Sports and FOX Sports, the USFL’s official media partners, will combine to present all 43 games live this inaugural season. For the 2022 USFL season, NBC Sports will present 22 games on NBC (9), USA Network (9), and Peacock (4), which will also stream all games broadcast on NBC. FOX Sports will carry 22 games split between FOX (14) and FS1 (8). The combined regular-season coverage on NBC and FOX will give the USFL 22 broadcast windows, more than any regularly scheduled sport in the first half of 2022.
