DRL Vegas Championship Race Presented by T-Mobile Features World’s Six Best Drone Pilots Competing for Championship Trophy
NBC Sports Has Presented Nearly 30 Hours of Drone Racing League This Season
STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 18, 2022 – A champion will be crowned as NBC Sports presents coverage of the 2021-22 Algorand Drone Racing League Vegas Championship Race Presented by T-Mobile this Sunday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. ET on NBC from outside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
The final race of the 2021-22 DRL Algorand World Championship Season brings together the world’s six best drone pilots, including DRL’s defending world champion, Evan ‘Headsup’ Turner, and DRL’s longest reigning pilot, Gabriel ‘Gab707’ Kocher. The pilots will race for the coveted championship title and trophy.
The pilots will fly state-of-the-art drones as they zip throughout the famed Las Vegas strip, soaring past neon-colored course elements in a magenta glowing course. Viewers will also get a drone’s eye view of the race, providing an exhilarating look into this championship competition.
Viewers can race along with DRL on the Drone Racing Arcade mobile game on iOS and Android, and enter the Tournament of Champions to win cash prizes.
This season, NBC Sports has presented nearly 30 hours of action-packed Drone Racing League coverage.
Throughout the season, the world’s 12 best drone pilots raced high-speed drones in spectacular courses across all dimensions. The elite pilots aimed to dominate 14 Levels of racing through iconic sports arenas and DRL SIM virtual maps to be crowned the World Champion.
DRL race locations included: Allianz Field, home stadium of Major League Soccer’s Minnesota United, in St. Paul, Minnesota, FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, home arena to the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, and outside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Virtual courses in the DRL SIM game on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic Games include the U.S. Air Force Boneyard – Night Mode Map.
