STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 16, 2022 – The latest chapter in the fierce rivalry between the U.S. women’s hockey team and Canada takes place in the 2022 Winter Olympics gold medal game live tonight at 11:05 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, plus two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin aims to win her first medal in Beijing in the women’s combined event live tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, USA Network and Peacock.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16
In a gold medal game rematch from the 2018 Winter Olympics, the U.S. women’s hockey team plays rival Canada tonight live at 11:05 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The U.S. and Canada have met in five of six Olympic gold medal games, with the Americans winning gold in a thrilling penalty shootout victory in PyeongChang. Click here for more information.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin aims to win her first medal in Beijing in the women’s combined, which gets underway with the downhill run tonight live in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, followed by the slalom run presented live at 10 p.m. PT/1 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
Qualifying in the women’s halfpipe freestyle skiing event will be presented tonight live in primetime on USA Network and Peacock, with a portion also airing live on NBC. 2018 Olympic bronze medalist Brita Sigourney and Hanna Faulhaber will lead the American group of contenders. Eileen Gu (China) is also a medal contender in the event and won the silver medal in the slopestyle event earlier this week.
The U.S. men’s curling team, skipped by 2018 Olympic gold medalist John Shuster, plays Denmark in its final matchup of pool play tonight live at 8 pm ET on CNBC and Peacock. With a victory or Norway loss to Italy, the team will advance to the semifinals.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17
The free skate portion of the women’s individual skate competition will be presented tomorrow live at 5 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock (encore in primetime on NBC). Two-time U.S. champion Alysa Liu, two-time Olympian Karen Chen, and 2022 U.S. champion Mariah Bell represent Team USA in the event. Kamila Valiyeva of the Russian Olympic Committee currently leads the points standings and Liu is the top American (eighth place).
Following Wednesday night’s qualifying, medals will be awarded in the women’s halfpipe freestyle skiing final tomorrow live at 8:30 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock, with a portion also airing on NBC.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18
Alexa Knierim/Brandon Frazier and Ashley Cain-Gribble/Timothy LeDuc will represent Team USA in the pairs’ figure skating short program Friday live at 5:30 a.m. ET on USA Network (encore in primetime on NBC).
The team event marks the final alpine skiing event in Beijing and will be presented Friday live at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock (encore in primetime on NBC). Mikaela Shiffrin plans on competing and would become the second woman in Olympic history to race in all six alpine skiing events on the program in an Olympics.
In freestyle skiing, the men’s halfpipe final will conclude Olympic competition in the discipline when the event is presented Friday live at 8:30 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock, with a portion airing live on NBC. The Americans are expected to have several medal contenders, including two-time Olympic gold-medalist David Wise, three-time Olympian Aaron Blunk, 2018 Olympic silver medalist Alex Ferreira, and 2021 world championship bronze medalist Birk Irving.
