STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 4, 2022 – Three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White and Team USA flag bearers John Shuster and Brittany Bowe headline the primetime presentation of the 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The program will feature interviews with athletes from Team USA, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson introducing Team USA in opening film titled “I Dare You”, and the performances, pageantry and the Parade of Athletes. Award-winning journalist and co-anchor of TODAY Savannah Guthrie will join NBC Olympics’ primetime host Mike Tirico to host the Opening Ceremony. NBC Olympics’ bobsled, luge, and skeleton reporter Lewis Johnson and figure skating and short track speed skating reporter Andrea Joyce will serve as reporters for the Opening Ceremony.

Andy Browne, the Editorial Director of Bloomberg New Economy Forum, and Jing Tsu, the John M. Schiff Professor of East Asian Studies & Comparative Literature at Yale University and author of Kingdom of Characters — a book about the politics of the Chinese language, contribute to coverage of the Opening Ceremony and provide a broader context of what the U.S. audience is watching in the opening days of the Games.

NBC Olympics correspondents Steve Kornacki, NBC News’ celebrated national political correspondent, and Lindsey Vonn, a three-time Olympic medal winning skier for the U.S., also offer commentary on the broadcast.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4

As part of NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony, NBC will present a first-ever Olympic Daytime show on the opening day of the Winter Games at noon ET, previewing the upcoming competition. The day-long coverage will culminate with an enhanced primetime broadcast of the Opening Ceremony featuring special coverage of Team USA, along with the performances, pageantry, and Parade of Nations — the heart of the Opening Ceremony – tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Two-time gold medalist Jamie Anderson seeks her third straight gold medal in women’s slopestyle snowboarding and will compete in qualifying tonight live at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5

The women’s short program portion of the figure skating team event is expected to be led by 2018 Olympian Karen Chen and will be presented tomorrow live in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. 2018 Olympians Bryce Bennett and Ryan Cochran-Siegle, and 2014 Olympian Travis Ganong, are expected to headline the U.S. contingent in the men’s alpine skiing downhill event tomorrow live in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

The 2018 gold medal-winning U.S. women’s ice hockey team continues its gold medal defense in opening round play against the Russian Olympic Committee tomorrow live at 8:10 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. The team, featuring 13 players from the 2018 Olympic team, including Kendall Coyne Schofield, Hilary Knight, and Amanda Kessel, began Olympic competition with a 5-2 victory against Finland on Thursday. Coyne Schofield and Alex Carpenter scored a pair of goals in the win.

The women’s snowboarding slopestyle final, which is expected to include medal contender Jamie Anderson, will be presented tomorrow live at 8:30 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock (encore at Midnight ET on NBC). In men’s snowboarding, 2018 Olympic gold medalist Red Gerard will headline American contenders in slopestyle qualifying tomorrow live at 11:30 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 6

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and the winningest slalom skier in World Cup history Mikaela Shiffrin is expected to compete in the women’s giant slalom Sunday live in primetime at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Shiffrin looks to defend the gold medal after winning the event in 2018. The giant slalom will mark the first of potentially five events Shiffrin will compete in Beijing. Also in primetime on Sunday will be three programs in the figure skating team event: women’s free skate, pairs’ free skate, and free dance.

The U.S. women’s ice hockey team plays Switzerland in Group A play Sunday live at 8:10 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.

The U.S. women’s moguls team will be headlined by 2018 Olympian Jaelin Kauf, Hannah Soar, and Olivia Giaccio in the final Sunday live at 6:30 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock (encore at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock).
