STAMFORD, Conn. – Feb. 2, 2022 – NBCUniversal’s comprehensive coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics begins tonight with live primetime coverage of ice hockey, curling, and alpine skiing. Hockey coverage features medal contender Canada opening Olympic competition against Switzerland live at 11:10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
The 2018 gold medal-winning U.S. women’s ice hockey team begins its gold medal defense in opening round play against Finland Thursday live at 8:10 a.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. Pre-game coverage gets underway at 7:30 a.m. ET. The team features 13 players from the 2018 Olympic team, including Kendall Coyne Schofield, Hilary Knight, and Brianna Decker.

Tonight’s live coverage gets underway when the U.S. mixed doubles curling team, featuring Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys, faces Italy at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. Persinger and Plys will open Olympic coverage tonight when they take on Australia at 6 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
NBC begins 18 consecutive nights of Olympic primetime coverage tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET featuring live figure skating as well as qualifying for men’s and women’s moguls.
Coverage of the Opening Ceremony is this Friday, Feb. 4 across NBCUniversal, beginning with NBCU’s first-ever live morning presentation of a Winter Games Opening Ceremony at 6:30 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock as well as an enhanced primetime presentation from 8-11 p.m. ET.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
Reigning world champion and four-time Olympic women’s ice hockey gold medalists Canada opens Olympic competition against Italy in an opening round Group A matchup tonight live at 11:10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. The U.S. and Canada have met in five of six Olympic gold medal games, with the Americans winning gold in a thrilling penalty shootout victory in 2018.
The U.S. mixed doubles curling team, featuring Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys, faces Italy tonight live at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. Wednesday’s Olympic coverage begins when Persinger and Plys take on Australia at 6 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock. Plys will also compete in the men’s tournament as a member of John Shuster’s team.
The men’s downhill training session, which is expected to feature Americans Bryce Bennett, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, and Travis Ganong will be presented tonight live at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3

NBC’s opening night of primetime competition tomorrow features live figure skating as well as qualifying for men’s and women’s moguls beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Three-time world champion and 2018 Olympian Nathan Chen is expected to compete in the men’s short program portion of the team event. Chen was a member of the U.S. team that took home the bronze medal in the event in 2018.
The U.S. women’s moguls team is expected to be headlined by Kai Owens and 2018 Olympian Jaelin Kauf in qualifying on Thursday.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4
Coverage of the Opening Ceremony is this Friday with full-day coverage across NBCUniversal, beginning with NBCU’s first-ever live morning presentation of a Winter Games Opening Ceremony at 6:30 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a special edition of TODAY at 9 a.m. ET with reaction and athlete interviews. NBC will then present a first-ever Olympic Daytime show on the opening Friday of the Winter Games at noon ET, previewing the upcoming competition. The day-long coverage will culminate with an enhanced primetime broadcast of the Opening Ceremony featuring special coverage of Team USA, along with the performances, pageantry, and Parade of Nations — the heart of any Opening Ceremony — at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Two-time gold medalist Jamie Anderson seeks her third straight gold medal in women’s slopestyle snowboarding and will compete in qualifying Friday live at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
