NBC SPORTS’ PREMIER LEAGUE COVERAGE ON USA NETWORK ON NEW YEAR’S WEEKEND SCORES 27% INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR’S CABLE COVERAGE

Sunday’s Chelsea-Liverpool on USA Network is Third-Most Watched Premier League Match Ever on Cable with Total Audience Delivery of 1.04 Million Viewers

Five New Year’s Weekend Matches on USA Network Average TAD of 570,000 Viewers – Most Watched Festive Fixtures Weekend on Cable since 2015

STAMFORD, Conn. – January 5, 2022 – NBC Sports’ Premier League coverage this past weekend on USA Network – the new U.S. cable home of the Premier League – posted a 27% audience increase over last year’s comparable weekend cable coverage.

Five Saturday-Sunday matches on USA Network averaged a Total Audience Delivery of 570,000 viewers – UP 27% from last year’s matches on the comparable weekend on NBCSN (449,000 average for four games on Jan 2-3). In addition, USA Network delivered the highest average cable viewership for a Festive Fixtures weekend since Boxing Day in 2015 (12/26/15).

Sunday’s Chelsea-Liverpool on USA Network averaged a TAD of 1.04 million viewers to rank as third-most watched Premier League match ever on cable. Saturday’s Manchester City-Arsenal game – which kicked off the New Year – averaged a TAD of 476,000 viewers, marking the most-watched game to kick off before 8 a.m. ET since Oct. 20, 2018 (Chelsea-Manchester United).
