STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 29, 2021 – Three-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers and the NFC-leading Green Bay Packers host Kirk Cousins and the rival Minnesota Vikings in a divisional showdown on this week’s edition of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with Football Night in America, followed by kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., on NBC, Peacock and Universo.
Green Bay (12-3), having already won the NFC North title and owning the best record in the NFL, can clinch the NFC’s top overall seed with a win on SNF and a Dallas Cowboys loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Minnesota (7-8) is still in the Wild Card hunt, only one game behind the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Packers remained undefeated at home with their Christmas Day victory, 24-22, over the Cleveland Browns. Rodgers threw for three touchdowns and passed Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre to become the franchise’s all-time leader in touchdown passes (445). Wide receiver Davante Adams registered 10 catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns in the win and ranks second in the league with 106 receptions and third with 1,362 receiving yards.
The Vikings fell to the Los Angeles Rams, 30-23, at home on Sunday. Cousins threw for 315 yards and a touchdown, marking his 30th passing touchdown of the year. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson had eight receptions for 116 yards and now has 2,851 career receiving yards since entering the NFL in 2020, surpassing Odell Beckham Jr. (2,755) for the most by a player in his first two seasons in NFL history.
Green Bay holds a 63-56-3 advantage over Minnesota (including the postseason) in the all-time series. The teams last met in Week 11, with the Vikings winning, 34-31, on a 29-yard game-winning field goal by Greg Joseph as time expired at U.S. Bank Stadium. It was the last time the Packers lost having won four straight since.
Calling Vikings-Packers is Mike Tirico (play-by-play); 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth (analyst); and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen. Three-time Super Bowl referee Terry McAulay is the Sunday Night Football rules analyst. Al Michaels and Michele Tafoya have the night off.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING:
Flexible scheduling will be used in Weeks 11-18. Additionally, in Weeks 5-10, flexible scheduling may be used in no more than two weeks. In Weeks 5-17, the schedule lists the games tentatively set for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to an afternoon start time.
For Week 18, two Saturday games and the Sunday night game will be announced no later than six days prior to January 9. The schedule does not list Saturday games or a Sunday night game in Week 18, but games with playoff implications will be moved to those time slots. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives “surprise” teams a chance to play their way into primetime.
