STEVE KORNACKI REJOINS FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA THIS SUNDAY

Renowned Political Correspondent Breaks Down NFL Playoff Picture This Weekend on Football Night and Halftime of Sunday Night Football

Kornacki to Appear on Football Night for Remainder of NFL Regular Season and for NBC Sports’ Coverage of Super Bowl LVI

FNIA Begins Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock; Bears-Packers Kickoff on SNF is Set for 8:20 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Dec. 8, 2021 – Steve Kornacki, NBC News’ celebrated political correspondent, will join Football Night in America this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock to break down the evolving NFL playoff picture ahead of NBC Sports’ coverage of Bears-Packers on Sunday Night Football. He will also appear at halftime of the game.

Kornacki has been widely lauded for his ability to easily communicate the complex election process and will bring that same election-style coverage to Football Night, tackling the intricate NFL playoff picture as it begins to take shape following the conclusion of the Week 14 afternoon games. He will appear on Football Night for the remainder of the regular season and will join NBC Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl LVI from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Kornacki made his Football Night debut last season and subsequently has been a regular contributor across numerous NBC Sports telecasts, including the Tokyo Olympics and Kentucky Derby.

Football Night in America features host Mike Tirico and co-host Maria Taylor, Hall of Fame head coach Tony Dungy, Super Bowl XLIV MVP Drew Brees, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, and NFL Insider Mike Florio. Co-host Jac Collinsworth and two-time Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison will provide on-field analysis and reports from Arrowhead Stadium.

Football Night in America is the most-watched studio show in sports and begins each Sunday night during the NFL season at 7 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, ahead of Sunday Night Football, primetime television’s No. 1 show for 10 consecutive years. This season Football Night is averaging 7.2 million viewers, up 19% vs. last year.

Kickoff for Sunday night’s game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers is set for 8:20 p.m. ET from historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc.
