STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 21, 2021 – No. 13 Notre Dame (5-1) and USC (3-3) renew the “the greatest intersectional rivalry” in college football as the Fighting Irish host the Trojans in primetime this Saturday, Oct. 23, at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
In a rivalry that dates back to 1926, the Fighting Irish hold the all-time series advantage over the Trojans, 49-37-5. Notre Dame has won the past three matchups vs. USC, including a 30-27 victory during the Trojans’ last trip to South Bend in 2019.

In 2011, Notre Dame Stadium hosted the first Notre Dame on NBC primetime game with a Notre Dame-USC rivalry matchup.
NBC Sports’ Mike Tirico (play-by-play) and Drew Brees (game analyst) will call the game along with Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter) and Terry McAulay (rules analyst).
The Fighting Irish, who are coming off a bye last weekend, beat Virginia Tech on the road, 32-29, on Oct. 9. Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams scored two touchdowns and the Fighting Irish won on a 48-yard game-winning field goal by kicker Jonathan Doerer with 17 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Head coach Brian Kelly is 7-3 against USC in his Notre Dame career.
USC, who are also coming off their bye week, look to bounce back from a 42-26 defeat to Utah on Oct. 9 as quarterback Kedon Slovis passed for 401 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Drake London, one of the top wide receivers in the country, caught 16 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown against Utah, his fourth straight game with 130+ receiving yards. The Trojans are 2-2 since naming Donte Williams interim head coach on Sept. 13 following the firing of Clay Helton.
After the game, Peacock will stream Notre Dame Peacock Postgame, an exclusive post-game show hosted by NBC Sports’ Jac Collinsworth and Corey Robinson. The show features Notre Dame Football Head Coach Brian Kelly’s press conference, analysis and commentary.
