Peacock to Stream Every Minute of 2022 INDYCAR Season, Including Streets of Toronto Exclusively on July 17
STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 19, 2021 – The 2022 NTT INDYCAR Series schedule will feature a record 14 races on broadcast network NBC, headlined by the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 29. The 17-race slate, which again will be exclusively presented across NBC Sports, opens with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, on Sunday, February 27, on NBC, the earliest start for the series in 19 years and kicking off a stretch of six races on network television to open the season.
NBC Sports will also present the third consecutive year of the INDYCAR-NASCAR doubleheader at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course the weekend of July 30-31, with the INDYCAR race on Saturday, July 30, on NBC.
Peacock will exclusively stream an INDYCAR race for the first time in 2022 when the Streets of Toronto race will be held on Sunday, July 17, following a two-year absence on the series schedule due to the pandemic. In another first, Peacock will simulstream all 17 races in the INDYCAR season. All qualifying and practice sessions as well as coverage surrounding the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500, Indy Lights races, race-day warmups and full-event replays of 2022 INDYCAR races will also be available on Peacock. In addition, two races taking place at Raceway at Belle Isle Park and World Wide Technology Raceway will be presented on USA Network.
Highlights of NBC Sports’ 2022 INDYCAR schedule include:
- The 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 29, on NBC;
- Kicking off a stretch of six races on broadcast network NBC, the 2022 season begins with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, February 27;
- The much-anticipated second iteration of the Streets of Nashville, and first presentation of the race on network television, will air on Sunday, August 7, on NBC;
- The return of INDYCAR to Iowa Speedway as part of a doubleheader event July 23-24 on NBC;
- Third consecutive year of the INDYCAR-NASCAR doubleheader at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course the weekend of July 30-31, with the INDYCAR race on Saturday, July 30, on NBC;
- Season finale at Laguna Seca will be presented on Sunday, September 11, on NBC.
