OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST JOHN SHUSTER AND OLYMPIAN TABITHA PETERSON HEADLINE SEVENTH SEASON OF CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA ON NBCSN

2018 Olympic Gold Medalist John Shuster Skips U.S. Men’s Team and 2018 Olympian Tabitha Peterson Skips Team USA Women; 2010 Olympian Chris Plys & Vicky Persinger Represent Team USA in Mixed Doubles

Nearly 20 Hours of Coverage Spanning Nine Consecutive Weeks on NBCSN Features Teams from United States, Canada, Germany and Denmark in Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles Competitions

STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 17, 2021Curling Night in America returns for a seventh consecutive season this fall on NBCSN, highlighted by a U.S. contingent featuring Olympic gold medalist John Shuster and 2018 Olympian Tabitha Peterson. Nearly 20 hours of Curling Night in America coverage spanning nine consecutive weeks begins this Sunday, Sept. 19, at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the United States faces Denmark in the men’s division.

Curling Night in America features the United States, as well as Canada, Germany, and Denmark, and includes one men’s, women’s and mixed doubles team from each of the four nations competing in round-robin tournaments. A points system will be used to determine a winner in each division (men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles), as well as one country as the overall champion.

Following are the teams and athletes representing Team USA on the seventh season of Curling Night in America:


  • Men: John Shuster, Chris Plys, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner, and Colin Hufman
  • Women: Tabitha Peterson, Nina Roth, Tara Peterson, Becca Hamilton, and Aileen Geving
  • Mixed Doubles:Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys

The U.S. men’s team features three of the five players on the 2018 Olympic gold medal-winning team in PyeongChang (John Shuster, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner). On the women’s team, the U.S. features PyeongChang Olympians Tabitha Peterson, Nina Roth, Becca Hamilton and Aileen Geving. The duo of 2010 Olympian Chris Plys and Vicky Persinger represent Team USA in the mixed doubles division.

Jason Knapp (play-by-play), 2006 Olympic bronze medalist Pete Fenson (analyst), and Naoko Funayama (reporter) will provide commentary for all Curling Night in America telecasts. For the first time, the event was held at the Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena in Irvine, Calif., from Aug. 24-27.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will provide streaming coverage of Curling Night in America to desktops, mobile, tablets, and connected TVs via “TV Everywhere,” giving consumers additional value to their subscription service, and making high quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.
