Peacock is Streaming Home of PLL This Season – Presenting Every Game

STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 19, 2021 – NBC Sports presents coverage of the 2021 Premier Lacrosse League quarterfinals this Friday and Saturday from Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, on NBC, NBCSN and Peacock. Quarterfinals action is headlined by midfielder and PLL co-founder Paul Rabil of Cannons LC facing first overall pick in the 2021 College Draft, attackman Jeff Teat, of Atlas LC Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

The quarterfinals get underway on Friday in primetime when the PLL’s points leader attackman Grant Ament and Archers LC play 2020 Oren Lyons Goalie of the Year Blaze Riorden and Chaos LC at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Peacock. Last weekend in the final week of the regular-season, Chaos defeated Archers 11-9 in a comeback victory.

The final semifinals berth will be on the line when the defending champion Whipsnakes LC and Matt Rambo face Myles Jones and Redwoods LC at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Peacock.

By virtue of earning the number one overall seed during the regular-season, Waterdogs LC has secured a berth in the semifinals and will face the winner of Redwoods LC-Whipsnakes LC.

Earlier today, the PLL announced the 2021 Jim Brown MVP award nominees, which features:

  • Grant Ament, Archers LC
  • Jeff Teat, Atlas LC
  • Lyle Thompson, Cannons LC
  • Blaze Riorden, Chaos LC
  • Zach Currier, Waterdogs LC

Brendan Burke (play-by-play) and Class of 2019 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee Ryan Boyle (analyst) will call the quarterfinals matchups from Rio Tinto Stadium with sideline reporter Paul Burmeister.

Over the course of the 2021 season, NBC Sports will present 44 PLL matchups, marking an NBC Sports record for the most-ever professional lacrosse game coverage in a season. 21 games — four on NBC and 17 on NBCSN — sets a record for the most-ever professional lacrosse games on television in a season. 2021 marks the first season that Peacock is the streaming home of the Premier Lacrosse League, featuring live, streaming coverage of every game throughout the season, including 23 events that will stream exclusively on Peacock.

2021 marks the third season of the PLL and follows a momentous offseason that saw the league merge with Major League Lacrosse (MLL), add an expansion team in the Cannons LC, and bring in new stars from the MLL and college.

The 2021 PLL playoffs begin this weekend, continue with the semifinals on Sunday, Sept. 5, and culminate with the Championship on Sunday, Sept. 19.
