STAMFORD, Conn. – Aug. 6, 2021 – Kevin Durant and the U.S. men’s basketball team aim to win a fourth consecutive gold medal in the final against Rudy Gobert and France live in primetime tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. Team USA also looks to avenge its only loss in the Tokyo Olympics. In the opening game for both teams in Tokyo on July 25, France scored 16 of the last 18 points in a come-from-behind 83-76 victory.

Also tonight in primetime on NBC, Allyson Felix wins her historic 10th track & field Olympic medal — tying her with Carl Lewis for the most all-time — in the women’s 400m final. Both the men’s and women’s 4x100m relay finals will also be presented tonight on NBC, and Team USA in the women’s 4x100m relay final is headlined by Tokyo 200m bronze medalist Gabby Thomas.

The last day of track & field competition will feature a number of medals being awarded in final events Saturday morning live at 6:35 a.m. ET on Peacock. Among those in consideration for Team USA in the women’s and men’s 4x400m relays include Allyson Felix, Tokyo gold medalists Sydney McLaughlin, Athing Mu, Tokyo silver medalist Dalilah Muhammad, Michael Norman and Michael Cherry. American Vashti Cunningham is expected to contend for a gold medal in the women’s high jump on Saturday. Coverage of the final day of track & field competition will air in primetime Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

In pursuit of a seventh consecutive gold medal, Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi and the U.S. women’s basketball team played Serbia in the semifinals for a berth in the gold medal game. The game will air today at 4 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Team USA, featuring former MLB players Todd Frazier and Edwin Jackson, plays Japan in the baseball final with a gold medal on the line live Saturday morning at 6 a.m. ET on NBCSN. The U.S. is looking to win its second gold medal in baseball after winning gold at the 2000 Sydney Games.

American Nelly Korda (-15) currently leads the women’s golf competition after three rounds of play. The final round of the women’s golf competition will be presented live today at 5:30 p.m. ET on GOLF Channel from Kasumigaseki Country Club. Fellow Americans Jessica Korda, Danielle Kang and Lexi Thompson are also in the field.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 8

NBC Olympics’ commentators Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir will host NBC’s primetime coverage of the Closing Ceremony for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad from Tokyo Olympic Stadium in primetime Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC. Lewis Johnson will serve as a reporter for the Closing Ceremony for the third time (2002 Salt Lake, 2016 Rio).

Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila, the hosts of Peacock’s Tokyo LIVE throughout the Games, will host live Closing Ceremony coverage Sunday at 7 a.m. ET/4 a.m. PT across Peacock, NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.

Kara Winger, who in Tokyo competed in her fourth Summer Games in javelin, was selected by her teammates to serve as the flag bearer for the United States.
