NBC OLYMPICS PRESENTS COMPREHENSIVE LIVE COVERAGE OF MEN’S AND WOMEN’S OLYMPIC GOLF COMPETITIONS FROM TOKYO ON GOLF CHANNEL

This Week’s Golf Coverage on GOLF Channel Includes U.S. Senior Women’s Open and ISPS Handa World Invitational

STAMFORD, Conn. – July 27, 2021 – NBC Olympics will surround the men’s and women’s Olympic golf competitions with comprehensive live coverage on GOLF Channel, complemented by daily Live From The Olympics studio coverage providing pre- and post-round analysis throughout the Games.

Coverage of the men’s golf competition airs live on GOLF Channel from Wednesday, July 28 to Saturday, July 31, beginning each night at 6:30 p.m. ET. The women’s golf competition will air live on GOLF Channel from Tuesday, August 3 to Friday, August 6, beginning each night at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Live From The Olympics will provide pre-game coverage each day of competition beginning at 5 p.m. ET, and will air at 8 p.m. ET on days without competition.

Leading coverage on-site in Tokyo are play-by-play commentator Rich Lerner, analysts Justin Leonard and Paige Mackenzie, tower announcer David Feherty, on-course reporters Jim “Bones” Mackay and Kay Cockerill, host/reporter Todd Lewis and reporter Steve Sands.

Leading coverage based from NBC Sports Group’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn., will be play-by-play commentator and host Shane Bacon, analyst Paul Azinger, tower announcers Tom Abbott and Karen Stupples, and studio host Anna Whiteley.

The U.S. men’s Olympic golf team features Collin Morikawa, fresh off his victory at the Open Championship, as well as Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Patrick Reed. The U.S. women’s Olympic golf team will be represented by Nelly Korda, Jessica Korda, Danielle Kang and Lexi Thompson.

Golf returned to the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio, where Matt Kuchar won a bronze medal for the U.S. in men’s golf behind Justin Rose (Gold; GBR) and Henrik Stenson (Silver: SWE). Inbee Park (KOR) won gold in the women’s golf competition in 2016, followed by Lydia Ko (NZL) and Shanshan Feng (CHN).

The inaugural playing of the ISPS Handa World Invitational features two 144-player fields comprised of men and women competing in the same tournament on two courses (Galgorm Castle Golf Club and Massereene Golf Club) in Northern Ireland.
