STAMFORD, Conn. – July 1, 2021 – NBC Sports presents motorsports madness this Fourth of July weekend with a NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series doubleheader from Road America and NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on NBC. The Sunday holiday doubleheader gets underway with the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio at noon ET, followed by NASCAR Cup Series Countdown to Green pre-race coverage at 2 p.m. ET, leading into race coverage from Road America at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The NASCAR Cup Series race will mark just the second time in series history that Road America hosts a Cup event and the first time in nearly 65 years.

NASCAR coverage this weekend will get underway with Xfinity Series practice tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Xfinity Series qualifying will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET Saturday on NBC Sports digital platforms, and continue at noon ET on NBCSN. Cup Series practice coverage immediately follows at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Countdown to Green pre-race coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, leading into Xfinity Series race coverage at 2:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ lead NASCAR race announcer Rick Allen will call both the Cup and Xfinity Series races this weekend from Road America alongside Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte, 21-time Cup Series race winner and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton and two-time Daytona 500 Champion and NASCAR Hall of Fame selection Dale Earnhardt Jr. Marty Snider, Dave Burns and Parker Kligerman will serve as pit reporters.

NBC Sports’ Jac Collinsworth will contribute to race coverage throughout the weekend, providing on-site reports and displaying the human interest stories of the crowd at Road America. Coverage will feature Americana teasers in celebration of the holiday weekend.

The official home of the NASCAR Championship and Playoffs, NBC Sports will once again present the final 20 NASCAR Cup Series races and 19 NASCAR Xfinity Series races in 2021, culminating with the Championship at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 6-7. INDYCAR: HONDA INDY 200 AT MID-OHIO

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio will be presented this Sunday at Noon ET on NBC. Coverage from the road course begins with practice tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock, which will stream all practice and qualifying sessions.

Highlighting the field will be reigning and six-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon, two-time INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden, 2019 Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud, seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, former Formula One racer Romain Grosjean and current points standings leader Alex Palou, among others. Will Power and Colton Herta won the pair of races held at Mid-Ohio last year.

Palou (349 pts) sits atop the points standings heading into this weekend, followed closely by Pato O’Ward (321 pts), and Dixon (296 pts) in third, who is aiming for a record-tying seventh INDYCAR championship.

The 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is back in Watkins Glen, N.Y. for the second straight weekend tomorrow with live coverage of the IMSA WeatherTech 240, beginning at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN. All five classes will be in action — Daytona Prototype International (DPi), GT Daytona (GTD), GT Le Mans (GTLM), Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) and Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2).
