STAMFORD, Conn. – June 17, 2021 – The NTT INDYCAR SERIES heads to Road America for the REV Group Grand Prix this Sunday at noon ET on NBCSN. Highlighting the field at Road America will be reigning and six-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon, two-time INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden, 2019 Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud, seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, former Formula One racer Romain Grosjean and current points standings leader Pato O’Ward, among others.

O’Ward (299 pts) sits atop the points standings heading into Road America, leading Alex Palou by only a single point (298 pts), and Dixon (263 pts) in third, who is aiming for a record-tying seventh INDYCAR championship.

NBC Sports’ coverage of the Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader last weekend produced viewership gains. Across both Saturday and Sunday, coverage on NBC averaged a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 954,000 viewers, up 3% vs. 2019’s doubleheader on NBC. The 2020 Detroit races were cancelled due to the pandemic.

Saturday’s race averaged a TAD of 845,000 viewers on NBC, up 10% vs. 2019, while the conclusion of Sunday’s race on NBC averaged a TAD 1.383 million viewers, up 26% vs. the entire Sunday race in 2019 (Saturday’s race included an extended red flag and Sunday’s coverage on NBC was impacted by a French Open overrun).

The REV Group Grand Prix leads directly into NBC Sports’ opening NASCAR Cup Series race of the 2021 season from Nashville Superspeedway on NBCSN. Countdown to Green pre-race coverage begins at 2:45 p.m. ET, with the green flag slated to wave shortly following 3:30 p.m. ET. Click here for complete programming details.
