Swimming Coverage Continues NBC Olympics’ Record Coverage of U.S. Olympic Team Trials Ahead of Tokyo Olympics

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 16, 2021 – NBC Olympics’ live coverage of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for swimming concludes with the final five nights of coverage in primetime, continuing today at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Peacock, and 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC from Omaha, Neb.

Coverage over the next five nights will feature qualifying heats, semifinals, and finals competition, concluding on Sunday, June 20, in primetime at 8 p.m. ET on NBC with the men’s and women’s 50m freestyle and the men’s 1,500m freestyle.

This Saturday and Sunday, live swimming trials coverage in primetime on NBC follows live U.S. Open golf and precedes U.S. Olympic Team Trials for track & field both nights.

Vying for spots on Team USA are five-time Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky, who could tie or break the all-time record for Olympic gold medals won by a U.S. woman (8) in Tokyo; two-time Olympic gold medalist Caeleb Dressel; four-time Olympic medalist Simone Manuel; 12-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, who is trying to make his fifth team at the age of 36; and three-time Olympic gold medalist Ryan Murphy.

Ledecky (400m freestyle), Murphy (100m backstroke), Regan Smith (100m backstroke), and Lilly King (100m breaststroke) are among those who have already secured their Team USA spots this week.

Team USA looks to continue its Olympic success, having led the medal count in swimming at seven consecutive Games, including in Rio, where the team won 33 medals.

Peacock will live stream NBCSN coverage of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials.

Over the course of both waves of swimming trials, 24 hours of preliminaries coverage exclusively streams on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.

Mike Tirico (play-by-play), three-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines (analyst), three-time Olympian Elizabeth Beisel (analyst) and Michele Tafoya (reporter) will call next week’s action.
