 STAMFORD, Conn. – June 9, 2021 – NBC Olympics today announced hosts for the Tokyo Olympics on CNBC, NBCSN, and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. For complete information about coverage on all three networks, click here. The Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics is Friday, July 23 on NBC.

CNBC welcomes as hosts two commentators making their NBC Olympics debuts – its own weeknight host Shepard Smith, and Meghan Triplett, the host of a morning show for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. Smith will host coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET, immediately after his CNBC newscast, and will be followed by Triplett.

NBCSN will feature a pair of hosts from GOLF Channel, as Cara Banks makes her NBC Olympics debut and Damon Hack earns his second NBC Olympics assignment.

Carolyn Manno will serve as a host on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, marking her fifth NBC Olympics assignment, and third as a host.

Following is a closer look at this summer’s NBC Olympics’ hosts on CNBC, NBCSN, and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA:

Cara Banks, a host of GOLF Channel’s Golf Central pre and postgame coverage and Golf Central Live From the Majors, makes her NBC Olympics debut as a host on NBCSN. Banks, who joined GOLF Channel in 2015, previously served as a host, reporter and interviewer for Sky Sports and BBC Sport in the U.K., where she worked on a wide range of events including the 2012 London Olympics and Wimbledon.

GOLF Channel’s Damon Hack will serve as a host of the Tokyo Olympics on NBCSN, his second NBC Olympics assignment after working as an on-site biathlon reporter at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Hack, who joined GOLF Channel in 2012, is a co-host of Golf Today and an on-site reporter at select PGA TOUR events as part of the network’s live tournament coverage and for Golf Central. Previously, Hack wrote for Sports Illustrated, Newsday, Sacramento Bee, and The New York Times, where he covered men’s and women’s basketball at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

This summer marks Carolyn Manno’s fifth consecutive NBC Olympics assignment, where she will host coverage on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Previously, Manno served as host for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics, was a freestyle skiing reporter at the 2014 Sochi Games, and a reporter on a wide-ranging number of assignments at the 2012 London Olympics. Currently a sports contributor for CNN, she served as a reporter and host in a variety of roles for NBC Sports from 2012-18. Following the Tokyo Olympics, Manno will serve as a host for the fifth consecutive Paralympic Games.

Shepard Smith, who joined CNBC in June 2020 as anchor and executive editor of The News with Shepard Smith weeknights at 7 p.m. ET, makes his NBC Olympics debut as a host on the network. Smith also serves as CNBC’s Chief General News Anchor and Chief Breaking General News Anchor. Previously, he served as a host and anchor at Fox News, where he worked since the network’s launch in 1996. While at Fox News, Smith covered multiple Super Bowls as well as MLB All-Star Games, Playoffs and World Series, and provided coverage for a number of Fox Sports college football telecasts.

Meghan Triplett, who hosts a multiplatform weekday morning show for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, makes her NBC Olympics debut as a host on CNBC. A digital content reporter for the Grizzlies’ Grind City Media, she creates, hosts and reports across all digital platforms, and contributes to game-night productions and broadcasts. Previously, she worked at ESPN and SEC Network, and was an anchor with Lax Sports Network, covering college and professional lacrosse.
