Denver, Colo. (May 26, 2021) – USA Cornhole today announced its first national event of 2021, the Duke Cannon USA Forces Cornhole Championship, which begins tomorrow, Thursday, May 27, and continues over Memorial Day weekend (May 27-29).  The event will be held at the Century Center in South Bend, Ind., and Saturday’s championship bracket will be presented live on NBCSN from 1-3 p.m. ET.

The Duke Cannon USA Forces Cornhole Championship is open to members of USA Cornhole that are active or retired military and First Responders including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Police, Fire, and EMT.  Some teams may qualify to compete in the championship event by participating in a qualifying tournament organized by a USA Cornhole Member Club or by purchasing a direct entry into the tournament.  In addition to NBCSN, the Championship will be broadcast on American Forces Network.  AFN is in 168 territories, on 140 naval ships at sea, and has approximately 500,000 viewers.

“This will be a great event for USA Cornhole to start out our 2021 broadcast schedule.  We really enjoy setting this event up for our military and first responders, especially on this very patriotic Memorial Day weekend”, said Kevin Warner, Executive Director, USA Cornhole.  “The participants will get the opportunity to play a lot of cornhole and we can celebrate their service to our country.”

“Duke Cannon could not be more grateful to partner with USA Cornhole to be the title sponsor of the USA Forces Event. This blends two of our passions: competitive cornhole and supporting our nation’s men and women of service”, said Sam Swartz, co-founder at Duke Cannon.

Teams of two from across the country will compete in pool play on Friday.  On Saturday, the top finishers from pool play will compete in a single elimination bracket to eventually crown the Duke Cannon USA Forces Cornhole Champion.  The competition is proving to be an extremely tough field of throwers and we expect to have some great individual matches.
