STAMFORD, Conn. – April 28, 2021 – NBC Sports presents an NTT INDYCAR SERIES doubleheader from Texas Motor Speedway this weekend on NBCSN. Saturday’s Genesys 300 race coverage in primetime begins at 7 p.m. ET, and XPEL 375 race coverage gets underway Sunday at 5 p.m. ET. Live coverage of qualifying from Texas begins Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN and Peacock Premium. Peacock will exclusively present coverage of practice earlier in the day at 12:30 p.m. ET. Highlighting the field at the oval track in Texas will be reigning and six-time INDYCAR champion Scott Dixon, two-time INDYCAR champion Josef Newgarden, 2019 Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud, 2004 INDYCAR champion Tony Kanaan, and last week’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg winner Colton Herta, among others.

In last Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Herta won after leading a race-record 97 laps, while Newgarden finished in second and Pagenaud rounded out the podium. Following the series’ opening two races of the season, Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama winner Alex Palou leads the points standings (67 pts), trailed narrowly by Will Power and Dixon (65 pts).

With a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 1.225 million viewers on NBC, Sunday’s Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is now NBC Sports’ most-watched non-Indy 500 afternoon INDYCAR race ever, the second-most watched overall race behind only last year’s primetime coverage of the Genesys 300 in Texas (1.256 million viewers), and the best Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in five years (ABC, 2016, 1.391 million TV-only viewers).

Sunday’s race was up 81% compared to last year’s running of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on NBC (10/25/20; 676,000 viewers), which was the finale of the 2020 season due to the pandemic, and up 37% vs. NBC’s 2020 INDYCAR race average (891,000 viewers), excluding the Indy 500.

Following are the top 5 markets for the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg:
