STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 29, 2021 – NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2021 FIS World Alpine Skiing Championships from Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, begins on Monday, Feb. 8, and continues through Sunday Feb. 21 across NBC Sports and Peacock Premium. A number of American contenders are expected to compete, including the winningest slalom skier in World Cup history and three-time Olympic medalist Mikaela Shiffrin, four-time 2020-21 World Cup podium finisher Breezy Johnson, two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, and 2015 world downhill silver medalist Travis Ganong.

The World Championships occur every other year and gather men and women across alpine skiing for two weeks of championship skiing. Cortina will also host alpine events for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The 2020-21 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup season continues this weekend with four events presented live on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBC Sports digital platforms and Peacock Premium. The women’s Super-G will take place from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, this Saturday and Sunday at 5 a.m. ET and the men will compete in the slalom in Chamonix, France, on Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 a.m. ET.

Breezy Johnson is expected to compete in the Super-G this weekend. She is one of only four American women to earn four alpine skiing podiums in a single season in the last 15 years alongside Lindsey Vonn, Shiffrin and Julia Mancuso.

NBC Sports’ Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) will call this weekend’s events alongside former U.S. ski team racer Steve Porino (analyst).

The 2021 FIL World Luge Championships, part of the 2021 Team USA Champions Series, Presented by Xfinity, will air live from Königssee, Germany, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. NBC Sports’ Paul Burmeister and 2014 Olympian Kate Hansen will call the action. An encore presentation will be featured Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

In addition to alpine skiing and luge, NBC Sports and Peacock Premium will offer extensive coverage of six additional skiing and snowboarding sports in February, including cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, Nordic combined, ski jumping and biathlon. Complete schedules can be accessed here.

In November, it was announced that NBC Sports’ exclusive streaming of winter Olympic sports has moved from NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass” to Peacock Premium, which is available at https://www.peacocktv.com/snow. Peacock Premium is also the exclusive home to all FIS events held in Austria.
