World’s Top Drone Pilots Compete in Final Race of 2020 DRL Allianz World Championship Season
STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 28, 2020 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the Drone Racing League (DRL), the world’s premier, professional drone racing property, this Saturday, Jan. 30 at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
The world’s top drone pilots will compete in the final race of the 2020 DRL Allianz World Championship Season. Pilots will soar through a virtual replica of Allianz Riviera, the iconic arena in Nice, France, in the true-to-life DRL SIM, the same immersive drone racing video game that players can download on Xbox and Steam to fly like the pros.

- The Season consists of 16 levels, each on a unique map in the DRL SIM and pilots earn season points based on their level win.
- In Saturday’s final 2020 DRL Allianz World Championship Season race at 4:30 p.m. ET, elite pilots will fly virtual replicas of custom DRL Racer4 drones that can accelerate from 0-to-90 MPH in less than a second. Pilots will soar through a three-dimensional race course in a virtual replica of Allianz Riviera, the iconic arena in Nice, France. They will race across two Semi-Finals and Finals to qualify for the winner-take-all Golden Heat.
- Top pilots including 2020 SIM Cup Champion Amari, the gamer-turned-DRL pro who beat out thousands of pilot hopefuls in the DRL SIM Tryouts to land a spot in the league and won the league’s first virtual SIM Cup series on NBC this spring, will face off against league pros including DRL Allianz World Champions JETand NURK.
