Stanley Cup Final Games 4 and 5 – Presented Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC

STAMFORD, Conn. – Sept. 23, 2020 – The 2020 Stanley Cup Final between the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning continues tonight with exclusive coverage of Game 3 with the series tied at a game apiece at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Pre-game coverage begins with NHL Live at 7 p.m. ET.  All Stanley Cup Final games are taking place at Rogers Place in the NHL bubble in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Lightning won Game 2 and evened the series when they defeated the Stars 3-2, scoring three goals in the first period and 27 saves made in net by goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. During Game 2, ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher discussed Vasilevskiy’s bounce back performance:

Boucher on Vasilevskiy: “(After) having a shaky Game 1, he needed to stand tall and he certainly did in the second period. Even though he gave up a goal on one of those 18 shots, I think several of his saves allowed his team to remain with the lead and it’s been a good bounce back outing for the Tampa Bay netminder.”

Eight-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick will handle play-by-play duties alongside U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst). Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire will provide reports and player interviews throughout the game.

Kathryn Tappen will host tonight’s studio coverage alongside studio analysts Keith Jones, Anson Carter and Patrick Sharp.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and Senior Executive Vice President, Social Impact, Growth Initiatives & Legislative Affairs, Kim Davis, joined Anson Carter for a conversation on diversity and inclusion in hockey on the latest episode of NBC Sports’ Hockey Culture, an initiative led by Carter, dedicated to bringing equality and inclusion to the sport of hockey.

Bettman, Davis and Carter discussed a number of topics, including the NHL’s pause in play in late August during the playoffs to fight social injustice, how to increase diversity and inclusion in the sport of hockey and how they hope to see progress within the sport in the next five years.

Highlighted quotes from the conversation are below:

Bettman on inclusion within the sport of hockey: “If we’re going to make a difference through all the levels of our game, we have to be setting the example at the NHL and club level.”

Davis on the pause in play to fight social injustice and unrest: “I think our approach was appropriate because if you look at the history of sports, any social movement in sport, has been led by players. Particularly, in my opinion, in our sport, which is predominantly white, we need allies…for this to be a movement and not just a moment, we have to have the advocacy of all players. For me, it was a proud time for our sport and a watershed moment because of the allyship.”

The second episode of Zdeno Chara: Made For This, a four-episode docuseries celebrating the historic career of Boston Bruins’ captain Zdeno Chara and detailing his first-person account of childhood, family and on-ice leadership as a member of the Boston Bruins for the past nearly year-and-a-half, will premiere tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, leading into NHL Live. An encore presentation of the episode will air following NHL Overtime at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
