STAMFORD, Conn. August 21, 2020 – NBC Sports presents a pair of Stanley Cup First Round clinching Game 6 matchups tonight on NBCSN, beginning with the (1) Philadelphia Flyers, who hold a 3-2 series lead, looking to advance to the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the (8) Montreal Canadiens in primetime at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The Canadiens forced a Game 6 on Wednesday bolstered by two goals from Joel Armia to a 5-3 victory in Game 5. A 30-minute edition of NHL Live will kick off coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

The (5) Vancouver Canucks will look to clinch the series and eliminate the (4) St. Louis Blues in the second half of the doubleheader in Game 6 at 9:45 p.m. ET on NBCSN. The Canucks earned a hard-fought 4-3 win in Game 5, led by Tyler Motte’s pair of goals, to push the Stanley Cup defending champion Blues to the brink of elimination.

Kathryn Tappen will host tonight’s studio coverage alongside studio analysts Patrick Sharp and Anson Carter.

Earlier this week, Hockey Culture debuted an interview with Minnesota Wild forward J.T. Brown as part of the initiative, led by Anson Carter, dedicated to bringing equality and inclusion to the sport of hockey. Highlighted topics that Carter and Brown discuss are the sport’s reaction to Brown’s demonstration during the national anthem three years as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning and how Brown is working with Wild teammate Matt Dumba on the “Rebuild Minnesota” project.

All games airing on NBCSN will air side-by-side in local markets alongside regional sports network game telecasts (excluding tonight’s Philadelphia-Montreal matchup, which will air side-by-side in Philadelphia with the local NBC affiliate). Every First Round game will stream in its entirety on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
