Hockey Culture – NBC Sports’ Initiative Dedicated to Equality and Diversity in Hockey Led by Anson Carter – Launches Today
STAMFORD, Conn. – August 11, 2020 – NBC Sports presents four Game 1 matchups in the NHL’s 2020 Stanley Cup First Round today, totaling more than 10 hours of coverage, beginning with Nikita Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning (2) against Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Columbus Blue Jackets (7) at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. A special 30-minute edition of NHL Live will kick off pre-game coverage at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The evening doubleheader begins in primetime at 8 p.m. ET when the Boston Bruins (4) face the Carolina Hurricanes (5) in Game 1 on NBCSN, followed by the top-seeded Vegas Golden Knights (1) taking on the Chicago Blackhawks (8) in a Western Conference showdown at 10:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
Liam McHugh will host today and tonight’s studio coverage alongside studio analysts Eddie Olczyk, Keith Jones, Anson Carter and Patrick Sharp.
Earlier today, NBC Sports launched Hockey Culture, a multi-platform content offering dedicated to bringing equality and inclusion to the sport of hockey. Led by Anson Carter, Hockey Culture will address contemporary topics within the sport, aim to promote diversity around the game and on the ice, and increase community engagement with hockey.
