STAMFORD, Conn. – June 8, 2020 – NBC Sports presents more than 50 hours of Stanley Cup Final games as part of Stanley Cup Final Week on NBCSN, beginning tonight with Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins facing the Detroit Red Wings in the 2009 Stanley Cup Final, at 5 p.m. ET.

Throughout the remainder of the week, additional featured Stanley Cup broadcasts include the Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues’ inaugural championships the past two seasons, the Chicago Blackhawks’ wins in 2010 and 2013, as well as the Boston Bruins and Los Angeles Kings Cup wins in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

Kathryn Tappen will introduce tonight’s 2009 Stanley Cup Final matchups. Below is each night’s highlighted Stanley Cup Final Week content:

TONIGHT, MONDAY, JUNE 8 – 2009 STANLEY CUP FINAL

The opening night of Stanley Cup Final Week features Games 2, 6 and 7 from the 2009 Stanley Cup Final that was won by Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, after rallying from 2-0 and 3-2 series deficits, against the Detroit Red Wings. Evgeni Malkin won Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP in a rematch of the 2008 Stanley Cup, which Detroit won.

NHL HAT TRICK TRIVIA HOSTED BY P.K. SUBBAN AT 5 P.M. ET

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Roberto Luongo joins the third episode of NHL Hat Trick Trivia Hosted by P.K. Subban. Hosted by the New Jersey Devils defenseman, the show features fans answering a trio of hockey trivia questions from their homes, along with appearances from NHL players and celebrities, for the chance to win NHL prizes. Additional guests on the episode include Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, actors Michael Keaton and Jay Baruchel as well as NHL referee Wes McCauley.

2009 STANLEY CUP FINAL GAME 2 AT 5:30 P.M. ET

Detroit jumped out to a two-game series lead after winning the first two games in the Cup Final by a 3-1 score. After an early goal by Evgeni Malkin, the Red Wings scored three consecutive goals behind two assists from both Marian Hossa and Tomas Holmstrom.

Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire called the matchup from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.

2009 STANLEY CUP FINAL GAME 6 AT 7 P.M. ET

Trailing the series 3-2, Pittsburgh forced a Game 7 when they defeated the Red Wings 2-1 on home ice in Game 6. Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy tallied goals for the Penguins, while goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury registered 25 saves to limit Detroit to only one goal.

Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire called the matchup from Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.

2009 STANLEY CUP FINAL GAME 7 AT 9 P.M. ET & 12:30 A.M. ET

Pittsburgh jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in Game 7 behind two goals from Maxime Talbot and never looked back, holding on for a 2-1 win capped by Marc-Andre Fleury’s last-second dramatic save on Hall of Fame defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom. The victory, during which he got injured, marked the first Stanley Cup for Sidney Crosby, who became the youngest captain in NHL history to win the Cup.

Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire called the matchup from Joe Louis Arena.

2009 PITTSBURGH PENGUINS CHAMPIONSHIP FILM AT 11 P.M. ET

The film provides an inside look into Pittsburgh’s 2009 Stanley Cup title with exclusive footage chronicling the sights and sounds of their championship season, including interviews with players and coaches.

GAMECHANGERS: ALL-TIME GREATS AT 2:30 A.M. ET

This 30-minute roundtable discussion from 2017 features Stanley Cup champions and NHL legends Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby, Bobby Orr, Mario Lemieux and Jonathan Toews, discussing a wide range of topics including winning the Stanley Cup, playing in the Olympics, Connor McDavid and other up-and-coming NHL stars, what it would have been like to play against each other, and Orr’s famous 1970 Stanley Cup winning goal.
