STAMFORD, Conn.May 14, 2020 – On Saturday, NBC Sports – the home of motorsports – presents an afternoon of virtual racing spotlighted by Monster Energy Supercross E SX, MotoGP’s virtual Grand Prix of Spain and the Drone Racing League’s 2020 FanDuel DRL SIM Racing Cup beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

2020 FANDUEL DRL SIM RACING CUP: RACE 1 AT 2:30 P.M. ET

The Drone Racing League (DRL), the world’s premier, professional circuit for drone racing, presents the first-ever fantasy virtual drone racing series, the 2020 FanDuel DRL SIM Racing Cup. The 2020 FanDuel DRL SIM Racing Cup will feature 12 elite DRL pilots battling on the DRL SIM, the true-to-life drone racing simulator, for the chance to be crowned the series’ champion.

Saturday’s opening race will mark the first of eight consecutive weekends that races will be held. The complete broadcast schedule on NBCSN is below:

MOTOGP VIRTUAL GRAND PRIX OF SPAIN AT 3:30 P.M. ET

The Red Bull Virtual Grand Prix of Spain, held at the virtual Circuito de Jerez, will feature one race for each class: MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. In the premier MotoGP class, six-time overall and four-time defending world champion Marc Marquez headlines the participants alongside fellow racers Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira. The virtual grand prix will be contested for the first time using the official MotoGP™20 videogame.

MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS E SX AT 4:30 P.M. ET

The inaugural Monster Energy Supercross E SX event, presented by Toyota, features 14 riders competing in the 450SX Class and 250SX Class in Monster Energy Supercross – Official Video Game 3. Participating riders include Adam Cianciarulo and Marvin Musquin, who has been sidelined in the 2020 ‘real world’ season due to a knee injury, in the 450SX, and Justin Cooper and RJ Hampshire in the 250SX. The 90-minute program will be held at virtual Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. Current Monster Energy Supercross championship standings points-leaders Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen provide commentary throughout the event.

Veteran play-by-play commentator Leigh Diffey, five-time Supercross champion and seven-time Motocross champion Ricky Carmichael and host and former racer Daniel Blair will call the action.

In addition to Saturday’s day of virtual racing, NBC Sports – the home of motorsports – has presented a number of virtual motorsports events over the past year. The recently concluded INDYCAR iRacing Challenge marked the latest collaboration between NBC Sports and iRacing, whose partnership began in 2019 with NBCSN broadcasting the first-ever eNASCAR live event on television. Since then, further collaborations have included a two-hour live broadcast of the 2019 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series Championship race, and the broadcast of the inaugural NBC eSports Short Track iRacing Challenge in April 2020.
