STAMFORD, Conn. – May 4, 2020 – NBC Sports will continue its presentation of Team USA Olympic hockey matchups on NBC throughout the month of May, with the 2018 Olympic women’s hockey gold medal game between the U.S. and Canada this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

The historic matchup, which will air on Mother’s Day, will have numerous new elements during the broadcast, including NBC Sports’ Kathryn Tappen interviewing Team USA captain Meghan Duggan on her memories about the gold medal game and celebrating Mother’s Day as both a mother and as a daughter. NBC’s broadcast will also feature a Mother’s Day tribute essay penned by seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, as well as a profile on American star Hilary Knight.

Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will interview five of the top prospects in the upcoming 2020 NHL Draft – Alexis Lafreniere, Quinton Byfield, Jamie Drysdale, Jake Sanderson and Tim Stuetzle – on NBCSN Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET, as part of the NHL’s #HockeyAtHome series.

On Thursday, NBCSN will present the NHL Player Gaming Challenge at 5 p.m. ET, featuring Clayton Keller and Conor Garland representing the Arizona Coyotes against Charlie McAvoy and Jake DeBrusk representing the Boston Bruins. The month-long initiative will pit NHL players from all 31 clubs facing off against each other in EA Sports NHL 20.

This week’s Hockey Happy Hour episodes, airing Monday-Thursday from 5-7 p.m. ET on NBCSN, will feature memorable “on this date” games in playoff history. NBC Sports’ NHL commentators Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, Keith Jones, Brian Boucher and Patrick Sharp will make appearances throughout the week, providing their own “on this date” stories.

Tonight at 5 p.m. ET, NBCSN will present the fourth episode of NHL Hat Trick Trivia Hosted by P.K. Subban, when Subban’s fiancée and three-time Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn, among others, will join the show. Hosted by the New Jersey Devils defenseman, the show features fans answering a trio of hockey trivia questions from their homes, along with appearances from NHL players and celebrities, for the chance to win NHL prizes.

NHL HAT TRICK TRIVIA HOSTED BY P.K. SUBBAN AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

P.K. Subban’s fiancée and three-time Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn, will join the fourth episode of NHL Hat Trick Trivia Hosted by P.K. Subban. Hosted by the New Jersey Devils defenseman, the show features fans answering a trio of hockey trivia questions from their homes, along with appearances from NHL players and celebrities, for the chance to win NHL prizes. Additional guests on the episode include former NHL goaltender Marty Turco, Los Angeles Kings mascot Bailey as well as NHL referee Wes McCauley.

RANGERS-PENGUINS (2008 EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS, GAME 5) AT 5:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Penguins and Rangers battled to a 2-2 tie to force an overtime period in Game 5. In overtime, Pittsburgh’s Marian Hossa scored the series-winner to propel Sidney Crosby and the Penguins over the Jaromir Jagr-led Rangers, advancing to the Eastern Conference Final.

Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire had the call from Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.

During the broadcast, Keith Jones and Brian Boucher reflect on playing in the third longest game in NHL history as teammates on the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 4 of Philadelphia’s semifinal series against Pittsburgh on May 4, 2000.

TUESDAY, MAY 5

OILERS-DUCKS (2017 SECOND ROUND, GAME 5) AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Edmonton jumped out to a three-goal advantage in Game 5, but with just over three minutes left in the game, Anaheim rallied to score three times to force overtime. ‘The Comeback on Katella’ was complete when Corey Perry scored the winning goal in double overtime to give the Ducks a 4-3 victory and 3-2 series lead.

Chris Cuthbert (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside the Glass’ analyst) called the matchup from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

As part of the broadcast, Patrick Sharp looks back on the final two playoff points of his career (1g/1a) as a member of the Dallas Stars in an overtime victory in Game 4 of the Second Round against the St. Louis Blues on May 5, 2016.

SABRES-RANGERS (2007 EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS, GAME 6) AT 5:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Sabres and Rangers clashed in a high-scoring affair combining for nine goals in the contest. Led by Jochen Hecht’s two goals and Daniel Briere’s three assists, the Sabres emerged with a 5-4 victory to claim what remains their most recent playoff series win, 13 years to the day.

Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire called Game 6 from Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y.

THURSDAY, MAY 7

NHL PLAYER GAMING CHALLENGE AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN will present the NHL Player Gaming Challenge at 5 p.m. ET, between Arizona vs. Boston. The competition features Clayton Keller and Conor Garland representing the Coyotes against Charlie McAvoy and Jake DeBrusk of the Bruins. The month-long initiative will pit NHL players from all 31 clubs facing off against each other in EA Sports NHL 20.

Following the hour-long broadcast at 5 p.m. ET, a matchup between Jonathan Huberdeau of the Florida Panthers and Evgeny Kuznetsov of the Washington Capitals will be available on NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app and the NBC Sports YouTube channel.

BRUINS-FLYERS (2010 EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS, GAME 4) AT 6 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Trailing the series 3-0, Philadelphia kept its season alive on Simon Gagne’s overtime goal to give Flyers a 5-4 win in Game 4. The victory was the first of four straight wins for Philadelphia, culminating in a historic comeback over the Bruins. The Flyers became just the third team in NHL history at the time to win a series after trailing 3-0.

Joe Beninati (play-by-play) and Andy Brickley (analyst) had the call from Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

The broadcast will feature commentary from Boucher, who was the goaltender for the Flyers in the matchup, and a few of his Flyers teammates.

SUNDAY, MAY 10

USA-CANADA (2018 OLYMPICS WOMEN’S GOLD MEDAL GAME) AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBC

Team USA and Canada faced off in the gold medal game at the PyeongChang Olympics in 2018. Behind the game-winning shootout goal by Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, the Americans won, 3-2, to claim their second-ever Olympic gold medal. The win also snapped the Canadians’ streak of four straight Olympic titles.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), AJ Mleczko (analyst) and McGuire called the gold medal game in PyeongChang.

Airing on Mother’s Day, the broadcast will have numerous new elements, including NBC Sports’ NHL host Kathryn Tappen interviewing Team USA captain Meghan Duggan on her memories about the gold medal game and celebrating Mother’s Day as both a mother and as a daughter.
