STAMFORD, Conn. – April 9, 2020 – Beginning next Monday, April 13, NBC Sports will present two special weeks of Olympic Games Week coverage on NBCSN, reliving nearly 100 hours of historic Olympic Games moments from the past 30+ years, featuring the 2008 Beijing Games, 2012 London Games, 2016 Rio Games, as well as Team USA dynasties, including men’s and women’s basketball and women’s gymnastics.
From Monday, April 13, through Saturday, April 18, NBCSN will present nightly primetime programming from the 2016 Rio Games and the 2012 London Games, highlighting memorable Olympic moments and athletes, including Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, Usain Bolt, Katie Ledecky, Allyson Felix, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and many others. On Sunday night, NBCSN will feature two Olympic Films at 10:30 p.m. ET.

MONDAY, APRIL 13 – RETURN TO RIO: 2016 RIO GAMES
The opening night of Olympic Games Week, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, features three medal performances (two gold and one silver) from the U.S. women’s gymnastics team. In the team final, the ‘Final Five,’ as they became known, captured gold in dominating fashion, defending the Americans’ 2012 team gold in London. In the individual all-around, the U.S. women captured the gold and silver medals, with Biles winning gold and Aly Raisman earning silver.

TUESDAY, APRIL 14 – RETURN TO RIO: 2016 RIO GAMES
NBCSN will showcase track & field, swimming and gymnastics from the Rio Games, starting with Bolt’s third consecutive 100m, 200m and 4x100m triple farewell act. An hour-long special, Michael Phelps, showcases Phelps’ medal-winning performances in his fifth and final Games. Allyson Felix’s three medal-winning races (individual and relays), which brought her career medal count to nine and made her the most decorated American woman in Olympic track & field history, will also air.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15 – RETURN TO RIO: 2016 RIO GAMES
American success in the pool will be highlighted on Wednesday, beginning with Katie Ledecky breaking two world records and earning five medals, four of them gold. Phelps’ historic six-medal (five gold, one silver) performance in his final Olympic Games will follow in primetime. David Boudia’s silver and bronze medals in diving will also be featured, as well as the U.S. women’s water polo team winning its second consecutive Olympic title.

THURSDAY, APRIL 16 – RETURN TO LONDON: 2012 LONDON GAMES
At the 2012 London Games, the U.S. women’s gymnastics team, nicknamed the ‘Fierce Five,’ won gold in the team event. In the individual events, the U.S. women earned four medals, including gold medals for Gabby Douglas in the all-around and Raisman on floor exercise. Boudia won a gold and bronze in diving, and the U.S. women’s water polo team won its first Olympic gold.

FRIDAY, APRIL 17 – RETURN TO LONDON: 2012 LONDON GAMES
Missy Franklin was a star in the pool at London, capturing four gold and one bronze medal. Franklin was joined by other American swimmers who shined, including Allison Schmitt (three gold, one silver, one bronze), Phelps (four gold, two silver) and Ryan Lochte (two gold, two silver, one bronze). London also marked the Olympic debut of a 15-year-old Ledecky, who stunned the field with a dominant gold-medal-winning performance in her first major international meet. In a thrilling matchup, the U.S. women’s soccer team battled with Canada and were victorious in extra time to advance to the gold medal game. In an all-American beach volleyball final, Kerri Walsh Jennings/Misty May-Treanor defeated April Ross/Jennifer Kessy, as the U.S. captured the gold and silver medals and Walsh Jennings/May-Treanor capped off a third straight undefeated run at the Olympic Games.

A 1.5 hour special, Michael Phelps, showcases Phelps’ Olympic-record eight gold medal performance in Beijing in 2008.

TUESDAY, APRIL 21 – RETURN TO BEIJING: 2008 BEIJING GAMES
NBCSN will showcase the women’s gymnastics team success in Beijing, highlighting Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson as the first U.S. women to go 1-2 in the all-around at an Olympic Games, as well as the U.S. capturing its second consecutive Olympic silver medal in the team event. In the gold medal soccer match, the U.S. women’s soccer team defeated Brazil 1-0 behind an extra time goal by Carli Lloyd. The 30-minute special, Usain Bolt, details Bolt’s three memorable races in 2008, including his record-setting 9.69 second run in the 100m final.

The U.S. men’s basketball team, which own 15 gold medals, has fielded some of the most historic basketball teams and players in history, including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, as well as the ‘Dream Team’ in 1992, arguably the greatest team ever assembled.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23 – OLYMPIC CLASSICS: WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
One of the most dominant teams in modern history, the U.S. women’s basketball team have compiled a 66-3 record since making their debut at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, and are currently on a 49-game winning streak. Four of their six consecutive gold medal victories will be presented and feature stalwarts such as Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, and Lisa Leslie. More Than Gold: Jesse Owens and the 1936 Berlin Olympics, narrated by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, chronicles Jesse Owens’ historic performance at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, Germany.

Almost 30 years of U.S. women’s gymnastics will be featured on Friday and Saturday on NBCSN. Coverage will begin with the ‘Magnificent Seven’ winning the first American team gold medal in Olympic history in 1996. An all-around triple-header features Carly Patterson becoming the first American woman in 20 years to win the all-around in 2004, while Liukin and Johnson followed in 2008 as the first U.S. women to go 1-2 in the all-around at an Olympic Games.
